The short answer
Compare operator charges, network fees, sending-service fees and conversion costs separately. Avoid counting the same fee twice if it is already included in a service’s final quote.
Assign each charge to the party quoting it
An operator can publish a fee for handling a payment. A wallet can quote a network fee. An exchange can quote its own withdrawal charge. If conversion takes place, the rate can create another difference between the amount sent and the balance credited.
Bitcoin fees relate to transaction data and network conditions rather than simply the amount transferred. Ethereum gas costs relate to the computation required and network pricing. Neither is a universal fixed casino charge.
See how BTC fee rate can affect confirmation timeCompare the net amount in the same unit
Suppose a fictional service quote removes 2 units from a 50-unit payment, leaving 48 to arrive. The charge represents 4% of the starting amount. If the same fixed charge applies to 200 units, it represents 1%.
That percentage calculation is not a reason to send more money. Keep your intended amount fixed and decide whether the disclosed cost is acceptable for that amount.
Check conversions in both directions
A deposit may convert into an account currency, while a later withdrawal converts out again. Compare the quoted rates and any explicit spread or fee, rather than assuming the round trip preserves the original amount.
Keep a timestamp with the quote because market prices and network fees can change. Our payment guide points to the operator’s published information; your cashier and sending service provide the actual quote.
Read the payment checks before comparing costsCommon questions
Does “zero fees” mean the blockchain transfer is free?
Not necessarily. Establish which party and which part of the payment the statement covers.
Can this guide give the cheapest method today?
No. A valid comparison needs current quotes for the same amount, compatible routes and the same destination.
